The Castles History

Cynthia started teaching in 1982 at Northside Elementary in Stateville, NC after graduating as a double major in Art and Education from St. Augustine College (Raleigh, NC). She married and relocated to Charlotte. During her 3 years of teaching primary school, she saw how many children were missing a basic foundation and realized how much harder it is to catch up than to start ahead.

From there, Ms. Knight established Castle's Daycare Academy located in east Charlotte (N.C.). She is the owner and director, and loves to stay involved while hosting 29 students ages 2 to 6.  Ms. Knight has been placing children into the school systems above district level benchmarks for learning foundation and wastes no time in making sure they are more than prepared for entering the school system. Through her many years of dedication, she has created the Hidden Gems Curriculum and Achievment Rocz Summer Scholar Boost Camp, which bring out the best in every child. Ms. Knight continues tolead all children on many roads to learning through discovery and research, while increasing their curiosity for knowledge. Currently, Read Charlotte and The College of Educarion at the UNC- Charlotte area exploring her approach. She was also inducted by Superman Hall of Heroes of Charlotte NC in 2015. She is a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, poet, author, illustrator/artist, songwriter, and storyteller.
